POE currency Closed Beta Will Feature the Full Game

Grinding Gear Games, the developer of Path of Exile and its sequel, has confirmed that Path of Exile 2's closed beta will feature the full game for testing purposes and will run for the entire duration of a standard challenge league. Deviating from the industry standard of running betas for days and offering a fraction of the content available at launch, Path of Exile 2's closed beta is shaping up to be a different beast, though players will have to wait quite a while before getting their hands on it.

Originally developed as an expansion for Path of Exile but on a much larger scale, Path of Exile 2 has since transformed into a full-fledged sequel due to the sheer volume of new content. The breadth of content currently in Path of Exile 2 consists of six campaign acts with 100 distinct environments, 600 monster types, and 100 unique boss fights. Players can use 240 unique active skills and over 700 equipment types for their gearing and crafting needs. Path of Exile 2 will boast a 1500-node strong passive skill tree, comparable to the one in Path of Exile. Players will also get access to six new classes alongside the existing ones from the prequel, bringing the total up to 12. These new classes will also have three unique ascendancies totaling 36 ascendancies across the board.

The amount of content slated to be available upon launch is comparable to Path of Exile's current offerings if not more in certain aspects. Director Jonathan Rogers explained in an interview with IGN that the studio aims to get the balancing right for Path of Exile 2, as players are often resistant to seismic shifts in meta and heavy-handed nerfs to character power, as evidenced by Diablo 4's patch 1.1 Rogers further explains that getting the maximum constructive feedback is important for the studio to deliver the final product. Therefore, the studio has decided to offer the entire game for the closed beta, which is slated to run for months.

Grinding Gear Games feels that this direction will undoubtedly be challenging, but it should also help the developer fine-tune every aspect of the game, from its 6-player co-op to its incredibly rich endgame. Path of Exile 2's endgame will feature refined mechanics from the original, however both games will continue to receive seasonal support through expansions released in an offset manner. Grinding Gear Games feels that the staggered development of Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 will lead players to enjoy different flavors of the same formula.

The studio hasn't elaborated on whether the future expansions for Path of Exile will become playable in the sequel, but the microtransactions will be shared across both games. The highly anticipated closed beta for Path of Exile 2 will be available on June 7, 2024.

POE currency for sale is currently in development and set to release around 2024 for Mac, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.For more news reports about Path of Exile, visit mmoexp and you will get the answer.
